The Czech operator Leo Express, controlled by Renfe, yesterday unveiled the first images of its Talgo Pendular series VI rakes in the company’s livery.
These are among the three rakes leased in October, recently withdrawn from service in Spain.
New visual identity
The trains sport a fresh visual identity, ditching dark colours for a predominant white finish with orange accents. The company logo remains prominent, as before.
Each rake comprises 12 coaches plus a generator van, offering 350 seats across two classes.
Service rollout
Leo Express will deploy the Talgo sets on two routes linking Czechia and Slovakia from 30 April.
One will run Prague–Prešov via Ostrava and Žilina. The other will launch the new Prague–Bratislava link via Pardubice, Olomouc, Otrokovice, Staré Město and Uherské Hradiště. It marks the first time that this Spanish manufacturer trains operate in both countries.
Expansion plans
Leo Express is in an expansion phase. From 1 March, it launches Warsaw–Kraków, extending to Prague—its first domestic Polish service.
The Prague–Bratislava route follows on 30 April.
Moreover, from 25 June, it enters the German market with Frankfurt–Leipzig–Dresden–Prague–Ostrava–Kraków–Przemyśl.
