Renfe has awarded Serveo the on-board catering and customer service contract worth €352.6 million over the next three years, with an option to extend it for an additional two years.

The Comprehensive Customer Service and On-board Catering Management contract amounts to €296.1 million before tax—an increase of €24 million compared to the current agreement, signed in 2021 when the company still operated under the name Ferrovial Servicios.

With this new award, Serveo will reach 18 years managing Renfe’s on-board catering service. The company first took over in 2013, overtaking Cremonini, which, together with Wagons-Lits, had traditionally supplied the service.

The new contract will take effect on 1 July 2026, the day after the current one expires, and will run for three years, with the possibility of extensions for up to two more. It covers everything from meal preparation and loading to public announcements, on-board welcomes, café-bar service, trolley catering, seat service, and vending machines. The agreement also includes a commission based on on-board sales.

Serveo was the only bidder in this tender, offering the same price as the contract’s base budget.
