Adif has awarded the joint venture formed by Tracción Rail and Continental Rail the contract for the leasing of locomotives with driving staff for maintenance work on the Spanish National Railway Network (RFIG). The contract is worth 5.65 million euros and has a duration of 24 months.

The agreement covers the supply of locomotives with driving personnel for track and infrastructure maintenance work. These include the transport of materials such as rails, sleepers or ballast, as well as the operation of herbicide, auscultation, or special freight trains.

In addition, the successful bidders will be responsible for driving Adif locomotives and vehicles dedicated to track maintenance, accompanying trains and managing shunting in their composition. They will also take on planning tasks to guarantee the availability of the necessary rolling stock during the term of the contract.

These services will complement Adif’s own resources and will be provided on a contract basis, depending on the needs detected at any given time.
