Europe’s Rail Join Undertaking (ERJU) has launched its 2025-02 call for proposals, with a total funding of EUR 148.2 million for projects valued at EUR 245 million.
This initiative aims to boost research and innovation activities aligned with Europe’s Rail Modified Work Programme 2025-2026, open until 11 February at 17:00 CET.
The call responds to Europe’s Rail’s ambition to modernise and digitise the European rail system, contributing to the European Green Pact and the digital transition.
It focuses on moving towards higher levels of technological maturity (TRL), facilitating the implementation of innovative solutions in network management, automation, sustainability and freight transport, among other areas.
In addition, it promotes innovative studies in rail industry 5.0, climate finance and training of new talents with doctoral scholarships. The initiative reinforces the European strategy for sustainable mobility and a single European railway area, under the leadership of the European Commission.
An online information day will be held on 10 October with presentations, legal and financial advice, networking sessions and live feedback on the call. This is a key opportunity for researchers, SMEs, universities and startups to drive the future of rail in Europe.
