Adif has started remodelling works at Navalmoral de la Mata station, to convert it into a modern, sustainable, accessible and connected terminal for high-speed services.
The planned investment amounts to 6.2 million euros, and the works will be compatible with the railway service.
The project includes the extension and renovation of the passenger areas, as well as the refurbishment and enhancement of the historic building.

In addition, a new, fully pedestrianised access plaza will be built, which will reinforce the integration of the station into the city and facilitate the connection with the adjoining bus station.
The main improvements include:
- Redistribution of the interior of the passenger building, with a 92 m² lobby, toilets, cafeteria, travel centre and Adif area, all accessible and with new information systems.
- Rehabilitation of the four original façades of the building.
- Construction of two new covered platforms, connected by a subway with lifts.
- Creation of a new car park for more than 100 vehicles, connected to the station by an underpass.
During the works, a temporary 58 m² modular, air-conditioned and accessible station has been set up to guarantee continuity of service to passengers. This transformation is part of the development of the High Speed Line to Extremadura.
