The Minister of Environment, Infrastructures and Territory of the Government of Valencia, Vicente Martínez Mus, has announced that the València Sud-Castelló section of Metrovalencia will be back in service by the last week of June.
This 50-kilometre section, which is key to Metrovalencia lines 1, 2 and 7, has required an investment of more than 60 million euros in the renovation of facilities, buildings, equipment, tracks and infrastructures in València Sud.
Metrovalencia currently operates 127 of its 147 stations, halts and stops, with 20 of them still to open.
The reopening of the section will mean the recovery of metropolitan mobility for thousands of users and the return to normality after eight months of work and a global investment of more than 130 million euros.
The announcement was made during a visit to the works at the València Sud facilities. More than 34 million have been allocated to these facilities, to which a further 28 million have been added for the renovation of tracks and infrastructures.
Part of the work includes the installation of a new control station on the first floor of the main building, which will be the nerve centre for rail traffic on the network.
