Alstom and Norske tog unveiled Oslo, the first Coradia Stream train in the Greater Oslo region. The event, held at Bane NOR’s Grorud depot, was attended by the Norwegian Minister of Transport, Jon-Ivar Nygård, and the French Ambassador, Florence Robine.
The new train, which is part of a framework contract for up to 200 trains with two orders totalling 55 units, is now entering an intensive testing phase in Norway. This certification includes tests in extreme winter conditions in mountainous areas, having previously been tested in Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic.
Norske tog’s Coradia Stream trains, which form the 77 series of Norwegian railways, consist of six cars. They can carry up to 778 passengers (of whom 294 can be seated) and have a maximum speed of 200 km/h. They have internet access on board, low-floor entrances to improve accessibility, and flexible areas for wheelchairs, pushchairs, and bicycles.

The 77 series is the largest railway rolling stock acquisition in Norway’s history and aims to modernise rail transport, increasing capacity and passenger comfort in the country’s east.
