TRAM d’Alacant reaches an all-time record number of passengers in 2024

Alicante’s tram and tram-train service, TRAM d’Alacant, registered a record number of passengers in 2024, carrying 20,267,803 passengers. This figure represents an increase of 11.36% over the previous year, with 2,074,941 more users.

Line 2, which connects Luceros with San Vicent del Raspeig, was the most used with 8,187,254 passengers, followed by line 1 between Luceros and Benidorm with 4,207,050 users.

Luceros station remained the busiest, registering 3,529,622 passengers. Mercado was second with 2,721,829, and Benidorm was third with 1,425,501.

The busiest day was 22 June, during the Hogueras festivities in Alicante, with 115,670 passengers.

This increase in the use of public transport in Alicante contributes to the overall growth of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV), which reached 111,533,757 journeys in 2024, including Metrovalencia services.
