On Sunday, 26 April, in the afternoon, the high-speed rail network recorded significant delays due to two simultaneous incidents affecting services operated by all three operators .

The first incident occurred at Madrid Puerta de Atocha station, according to information released by Renfe via its InfoRenfe X account. The technical problem, whose specific origin has not been detailed, affected several trains originating from or destined for the Madrid terminal, hindering journeys for thousands of passengers using Renfe, Iryo, and Ouigo services. The issue was resolved this morning.

Parallel to this, Adif announced at 20:00, solely on its website, a second incident involving signalling at Puertollano (Ciudad Real), affecting the Madrid-Andalusia high-speed line. This second breakdown generated additional delays on one of the network’s key corridors during a day of elevated mobility.

Although Adif is highly active on its @InfoAdif X account, where it normally informs passengers about the network status, it is surprising that it remained silent yesterday regarding both incidents. So far, the company has not responded to requests for information on the cause of the problems or why this channel, which serves as its communication reference, failed to report the situation.
