On Tuesday, journalist Teresa Castanedo took over the direction of the Museo del Ferrocarril de Madrid. According to the Fundación de los Ferrocarriles Españoles, her mission is to promote its notoriety and relevance.

Although she has no experience in the railway sector, she has a degree in Information Sciences from the Complutense University and a master’s degree in Digital Marketing. She stands out for her extensive experience in cultural management and communication. She has worked in media such as RTVE and Telemadrid, where she was head of the Culture area for a decade.

After leaving Telemadrid, she has been the director of the Mercado de Motores, the monthly craft fair held at the Railway Museum since 2012.

Castanedo introduced himself to the museum team, showing “great enthusiasm and increased motivation” to turn the space into a cultural reference that inspires visitors to share their experience.

Castaneda was elected through a public call for employment, which has resulted in several vacancies. He has taken over from Raquel Letón, who has been acting coordinator since Francisco Polo’s dismissal.
