Metro de Madrid tenders escalator maintenance for 2026–2030 period

Metro de Madrid has launched a new €32.9 million contract for the maintenance of escalators across its network. The contract is divided into six lots.

throughout its network. Valued at an estimated €32.9 million (excluding VAT), the contract will run for four years, mirroring the structure of the current agreement in force.

The tender is divided into six lots, grouped by manufacturer and number of escalators:

  • Lot 1: 136 KONE escalators.
  • Lot 2: 137 KONE escalators.
  • Lot 3: 143 THYSSEN escalators.
  • Lot 4: 143 THYSSEN escalators.
  • Lot 5: 132 OTIS escalators.
  • Lot 6: 79 SCHINDLER escalators.

In the previous call for tenders, published in 2022, with similar lots but varying quantities of escalators, the contracts were awarded as follows:

  • Lot 1 (119 KONE escalators): awarded to Kone Elevadores, S.A.
  • Lot 2 (118 KONE escalators): awarded to Kone Elevadores, S.A.
  • Lot 3 (156 THYSSEN escalators): awarded to TK Elevadores España, S.L.U.
  • Lot 4 (155 THYSSEN escalators): awarded to TK Elevadores España, S.L.U.
  • Lot 5 (132 OTIS escalators): awarded to Zardoya Otis, S.A.
  • Lot 6 (82 SCHINDLER escalators): awarded to Schindler, S.A.

Interested companies have until 21 January 2026 to submit their bids.
