FGV signs 14th collective agreement and calls off strike action amid Hogueras campaign

Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat Valenciana (FGV) and the trade unions UGT, CCOO Valencia and Alicante, and SF Valencia have formally signed the 14th Collective Agreement, which will remain in force until the end of 2029. As a result, the strike action scheduled across the operator’s two networks has been withdrawn.

Although SIF and SEMAF did not sign the agreement, both organisations have cancelled their industrial action calendar following the consensus reached by the majority of union representation. This move secures normal service provision across both Metrovalencia and TRAM d’Alacant operations.

The suspension of strike action is particularly significant in Alicante, where enhanced service patterns will be deployed between 20 and 25 June to accommodate peak passenger demand during the Hogueras festival. In parallel, Valencia will maintain reinforced metro and tram operations for the night of San Juan.

The new agreement introduces both financial and social improvements for FGV staff across the two provinces, establishing a stable industrial framework for the coming years while safeguarding service continuity during key high-demand periods.
