Madrid-Chamartín station is getting back to normal after yesterday’s derailment, which knocked out all the high-speed tracks between 14:00 and 15:00.
Although northbound traffic was resumed after the power supply was restored, the southern end of the station remained unusable. Trains bound for Levante had to leave from Atocha, most of them with a considerable delay.
After removing the derailed train of the 130 series covering the Alicante-Madrid-Palencia-(Santander) route, and repairing the damage to the track and electrification, Adif AV re-established circulation at the southern end of the station early in the morning.
