Adif and Adif AV invested 4.5 billion euros in 2024

During 2024, Adif and Adif alta velocidad executed a joint investment of 4,491.5 million euros, higher than in the previous year. Adif invested 42.5 percent more than in 2023.

Adif and Adif Alta Velocidad (Adif AV) executed a joint investment of 4,491.5 million euros in 2024, 32% more than the previous year.

Of particular note are the 2,459 million invested by Adif AV, especially in the Basque Y, the Murcia-Almería line, and the Madrid-Extremadura line, as well as in improving operating lines such as Madrid-Lleida-Barcelona and Madrid-Seville.

For its part, Adif earmarked 2,032.5 million, 42.2% more, for the Northwest corridor, Cercanías and freight.

Adif AV’s turnover grew 7.6% to 782.9 million euros, driven by increased traffic and passengers. Revenue from railway fees accounted for 82%, with 644.9 million euros for infrastructure use and 137.6 million euros for stations.

Adif AV cut its losses by 26% to 100.9 million, the best net result in its history. In addition, it consolidated its leadership in sustainable financing by completing its eighth green bond issue, reaching a total volume of 4,600 million euros issued since 2017.
