Adif’s Board of Directors has agreed to reorganise the company’s management structure to reduce it and make it more optimal.

Although this move had already been anticipated, it has now been made official. The new organisational chart, proposed by President Pedro Marco de la Peña, will reduce the number of general directorates from nine to six, with the aim of optimising management and, according to the company, putting the passenger at the centre of its policies.

The restructuring includes three corporate general directorates and three dedicated to railway management, operation, and user services. The corporate directorates will be:

  • Directorate General Finance, Procurement and Systems.
  • Directorate-General for People Management, Strategy and Security.
  • General Secretariat.

The changes aim to improve rail management planning, prioritising passengers and citizens in decision-making.

The new structure will come into effect after the heads of the directorates-general, who will be selected through a public process, are appointed.
