Transport for London (TfL) and Boldyn Networks report that around 60% of Underground stations now have 4G and 5G service. The programme aims to complete antenna installation across the network before year-end.

Recent in-tunnel activation covers sections of the Bakerloo, Metropolitan and Circle lines, including Bakerloo between Queen’s Park and Edgware Road, Metropolitan between Euston Square and King’s Cross St Pancras, and multiple Circle and District stretches around Paddington, Victoria and Cannon Street.

High-footfall stations such as Vauxhall, Gloucester Road and Temple are already live, while major interchanges including King’s Cross St Pancras, Victoria and Paddington will be commissioned in phases, prioritising ticket halls and platforms. More than 600 engineers are working nightly during engineering hours to advance deployment.

All four UK mobile network operators—EE, Three UK, Vodafone and VMO2—are participating. The infrastructure will also host the Emergency Services Network (ESN), enabling real-time access to critical data. Coverage will extend to sub-surface sections of the DLR and the Windrush line on the Overground.
