Adif has announced the tendering of a contract to supply new shunting locomotives for the Logistics Services Directorate. With a budget of €95 million, the infrastructure manager will thus modernise its fleet in logistics terminals.
Adif currently has locomotives of the 310 and 311 series for train formation and shunting at its logistics terminals.
The first were built in 1989 by Macosa, utilising General Motors’ traction and featuring a maximum power output of 1,109 hp. The second ones are the most modern, manufactured between 1990 and 1991 by a consortium formed by MTM, Ateinsa and Babcock&Wilcox with a maximum power output of 1,065 CV. These locomotives are known as “Mavi” after the consortium that manufactured them.
