Renfe and the trade unions SEMAF, CCOO, UGT and SFIntersindical have reached an agreement in principle within the 4th Collective Bargaining Agreement to create a specific professional career in the Operation Control Centres (CGO in Spanish), with special attention to the Rodalies area.
The agreement includes the definition of competences and functions and the improvement of the professional careers of the staff of these centres, which are essential for the operation and resolution of railway incidents.
As an immediate measure, the professional subgroup of “Incident and Operations Management Centre Entry Operator” was created, and 25 positions for the Rodalies CGO in Barcelona were offered as a public employment offer.
This call, the first for this post, aims to strengthen internal staffing and avoid outsourcing critical functions.
The agreement also foresees a specific training programme for current and future CGO employees and the possibility for commercial supervisors to take on teaching tasks after passing a selection process.
These measures, the result of dialogue between the company and the unions, aim to improve the coordination and quality of the Cercanías and Rodalies services.
