Contract awarded for the installation of the Tren-Tierra and electricity supply between Colmenar Viejo and Soto del Real

Important step in the extension of line C-4b of Cercanías Madrid on line 102 (Chamartín-Burgos Bifurcación Aranda) between Colmenar Viejo, Manzanares el Real and Soto del Real.

The Board of Directors of Adif has awarded the works for the mobile train-ground communications system, fixed communications and power supply at 2,200 V dc and 3,000 V dc.

This is the second time this contract has been put out to tender, as the first one, held in April 2022, was unsuccessful.

On this occasion, the base budget has been increased from 1.5 million to 2.35 million euros, and three bids have been submitted.

The winning company is the SISTEM-SSCH TT MANZANARES joint venture, made up of Sistemas y Montajes Industriales, SA and Sistem Secutrity Check, SA. The contract is worth 2.16 million euros (plus taxes) and has a completion period of 8 months.

The works will include the installation of the Train-Ground (Tren-Tierra) telecommunications system on the 10.14 km route, with a fixed post at km 23+375 and another at km 24+965.

In addition, the UTE will install a dedicated 2,200 V – 3,000 V power line for the supply of traction power and other equipment, including the installation of step-up and step-down transformers.
